A federally endangered Plymouth red-bellied turtle (Pseudemys rubriventris) sometimes called the Plymouth red-bellied cooter, at the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This was the first freshwater turtle species in the United States to be listed as endangered.
