A critically endangered Philippine eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) at the Philippine Eagle Center.
This eagle’s name is Imbulog, which means ‘Soar’.
The first captive bred Philippine eagle was hatched here in 1992. Imbulog is the 23rd successful chick born at the Philippine Eagle Center, which is the only place in the world that breeds and rears this critically-endangered species.As of 2019, there are 400 pairs left in the wild.
