Long-toothed dart moth becomes National Geographic Photo Ark’s 11,000th species

 

 

A long-toothed dart moth (Dichagyris longidens). This species was rediscovered along the Pecos River near Santa Fe, NM, in Sept. of 2020, this is thought to be the first time this species of dart moth, Dichagyris longidens, has been photographed alive. It was collected using lights at night, photographed, and released back into the wild.
