Image & Video Use Guidelines
The 43,770 images and videos on this site are the result of thousands of hours of work, and are primarily self-funded. Unfortunately, we can’t make these images & videos available for free. We are fortunate to work with many non-profits, conservation initiatives, individuals, media outlets, publications and businesses. All licensing fees go directly into funding and continuing the Photo Ark. We pride ourselves on fast and friendly service, and would be happy to help you find the right images and videos for your needs.
If you’d like to license an image or video for an editorial, non-profit, conservation, academic or student use (including articles in magazines, newspapers, and websites; powerpoint presentations; exhibitions; use in papers or reports), complete this form and we’ll get in touch. If you’re a non-profit, a conservation initiative, or a student, please say so.
If you’d like to license an image or video for a commercial use (including advertisements, clothing, or products for sale), please email Dorian.Romer@natgeo.com.
If you would like to use an image or video to promote a Photo Ark story or a story about Joel Sartore, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
